The main tool used in Kdenlive to create the clone effect is the retroscope (Added in Kdenlive 0.8). There is other ways to do this, but few are as versatile. Nothing helps you increase your video views quite like a pretty girl and for that I thank Crystal. Andy is cool too, I guess.
