"P" is the shortcut key. 2. mark a point at the edge of the image which you want to cut. 3. extend lines around the image with precision. 4.when you're done, right click in it to get a "make selection" option. 5. In it, change feather from 5 to 10. 6.Hit ok. 7. You'll get the selection around the image now, so press, ctrl+J to copy only the cut out image in a new layer. Enjoy. ^_^

I want to cut out an image from a photo, like I would with a pair of scissors so I can layer it over another photo. How would I do that with these softwares. I'm new to all this and I've been staring at my screen with Elements 8 and still cannot find the cut out function. Hope it has one. THX for your help.
