Mar 22, 2012 - I grew up with this; My mother must have had a recording of this. And it may have been sung for their wedding. Thank you tricaloui for posting this.Very pleasant.
Feb 27, 2012 - I watched it, too (I get UK TV here.) I am so sorry about your parents. I am not saying you will ever "get over" it, but you will learn to live with it, and accept that you will always miss them. They will always be with you because love doesn't die. And yes, I end every talk with my Dad by telling him that - even though often, I don't know if he understands. If you want to "private message' any time, feel free. All the best.
Feb 27, 2012 - This was my parents favourite song tooThey had better music back then, I had this played at my mothers graveside,to re unite her with my dad,she past away last year and i am finding it very hard. The film High society was just on TV a few hours ago as well,(England), I hope you see your father as much as you can and tell him how much you love him?
Feb 23, 2012 - My Mum and Dad met and fell in love when he was 17 and she was 15 - and stayed that way until she died, five years ago. They went to see this film when it came out the year after they met, and "True Love" was their song. I remember, as a child, finding them singing it together in the kitchen, on their anniversary. My Dad was unable to cope after Mum died, and is now in a care-home. I realise now that we didn't have much materially, when I was a child, but our home was full of "True Love".
Feb 21, 2012 - True Love? Oh that's like shopping - if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it. If you can measure love, your head is working harder than a beating heart should just be.
That said, I'm like the americano - single but I do love this performance well before I can think about how much.
Nov 21, 2011 - the old groaner came good with just the sweetest little gem you'll ever just hear. Fantastic song, so much better than those awful politicos and money peeps. Thanks for sharing a wonderful smile. :)
Nov 6, 2011 - This is wonderful, a glimmer of light.
The concept of "true" love, or that bond between lovers, is mostly gone. I'm too afraid to take on a boy because of instant gratification and abundant sex (which I've seen in the relationships of my two roommates). If there is something technology isn't too good for, it's human relationships. There seems to be nothing romantic today; things like letters and starry nights are eschewed by people my age...
Jun 23, 2011 - @acblueeagle says ..The movie is "High Society". It came out in 1956. It was my wife's and my wedding song. Cole Porter wrote it as well as the other great songs in the show. Wow...This was "our song" also. Do young people have love songs that keep them together...that keep their love alive ..?
