Joosthere, a member of the LockerGnome community at large asked: "Looking at the definition of computers and then the definition of machines, humans appear to be a lot like "computers". Are we?"
This is one of those fundamental philosophical questions that have been on the minds of man since the first computer was conceived and created. Are brain functions on electric synapses and impulses that calculate and store information, much like a modern computer does. Does that mean that we could very well be defined as a computer, as well?
What is your take on this question?

May 19, 2012 - I think it would be terrifying if I ever confirmed that we were just computers. Think about it, our creator could change anyone of the physical variables that actually exist. The axis in which we travel as a earth could throw us off course. It would be so scary as you either move toward the sun or away from it, and earths nature would quickly or slowly die. I bet they would show it on tv as a camera in space watches us drift off to another location.

Sep 21, 2011 - Anything that can compute is a computer (I think several people mentioned this already), even my dog is a computer... But, you wouldn't think so most of the time. I think this is a controversial subject for some, because the notion "human's are computers" seems to put down human intelligence. Likely, do to comparison with the very limited computer machines. But, maybe in a ~few years from now we (humans) might be flattered with the comparison... Unless your Blade Runner?
