Apr 3, 2012 - Depends on how remote the location is but the fork lift isn't necessary to move it. If you have at least a dirt trail available then a truck can bring in the shelter plus winches and lumber to drag it into position. May need a trailer depending on the truck. If there are no roads then a medium to large helicopter can sling load it underneath and drop it in many locations but the delivery fee may be pretty high. Biggest problem in remote locations can be the large quantity of water required.

Apr 3, 2012 - They say at least 10 year life span since the technology is still fairly new. The actual life span is unknown but probably very long. There are some similarly shaped quonset huts from WW II and the Korean war that are still in use after over half a century of use. Those huts are made of steel which should typically not last nearly as long as concrete.

Apr 1, 2012 - How much do they cost? I can see my self buying one room at a time and burying them for a massive underground complex home.

Mar 18, 2012 - A smaller version of this would make an excellent tornado shelter. Would come in very handy out here in Oklahoma.

Mar 4, 2012 - "hey should have made it smaller first ... like for sheds or wine sellers.... then the military would have taken notice." When dealing with residential, what you forget is PERMITS. This is an excellent way to build an underground living space for anybody, and it's probably relatively inexpensive and very durable, which is why no local government would allow it.

Mar 3, 2012 - they should have made it smaller first ... like for sheds or wine sellers.... then the military would have taken notice. not to say that they didn't.. i think i could make one cheaper without needing to be inflated. kind of like a "picnic canopy tent" pull it apart, cement cloth top with 3 cement cloth walls, make 1 side a door. spray it down with water, let it harden. punch a small vent hole in top, place a rain shield over that. smoke some pot , eat food and fuck

Feb 14, 2012 - Looks like a neat idea, but only a 10 year life span kinda suck's. Just wonder how much it cost.

OK55OK55OK Says:

Feb 14, 2012 - They show it being covered with dirt...It doesn't seem like it would be strong enough to do that....I can't get to the web-site, Does anyone know of a supplier in the U.S.? I think it's a GREAT idea! No forms, no wet concrete, no steel,.... so what about the fan? It wouldn't have to be as big as you think. The fork lift was just a convience, not mandatory. there are endless ways to transport. I want one. I want a bunch of them.
