May 22, 2012 - hey i have a desktp pc and have 2 slots for RAM left, my maximum is 32 g and i have 8gb, would it be better to buy unbuffered non ecc or just non ecc?

CrucialMemory Says:

May 22, 2012 - Hi LtBartram, there are a few things that could be going on. The memory may not be installed correctly, you have a bad slot in your machine, or you have faulty memory. If you are still having problems, please call our free technical support at 1 800 336 8915. We'll help walk you through some troubleshooting!

CrucialMemory Says:

May 22, 2012 - Hi YakuzaDrifts, most Presario CQ61's have two slots for memory and max out at 2GB. If you have an open slot then yes, you can just add a module. However, if both slots are filled and you are not at your max yet then you will have to replace one, or both, of the modules with a larger density module. Good luck with your upgrade!

May 21, 2012 - I actually have the exact same model as the laptop in the video (hence why I watched this video), and I have since found the second slot - it's in a completely different place! It's under the keyboard, and slightly harder to get to.

XEA6L Says:

May 20, 2012 - The laptop in the video only has one DIMM slot. However, other laptops (depending on the manufacture, model, etc. ) have 2 slots (hence they can accommodate 2 cards). This is why he said what he said. If you can't find a second slot, it is because your laptop only has one :)

May 18, 2012 - Thanks for the video! I took the RAM out and had no idea how to place it back in again, but after watching your video it worked at the first try!

Apr 30, 2012 - Hi XxBenixX10, there are a variety of HP G62 laptops out there. Your best best to know for sure what it can take is to go to our website, Crucial.com, and run our system scanner on your system. It will show you what you currently have installed, the max it can be taken to, and will show you the guaranteed compatible upgrades for it.

CrucialMemory Says:

Apr 30, 2012 - Hi FUGMed1a, yes you can add an individual 4GB module to your system. The modules do not have to be added in pairs. You will be able to tell the difference between the modules from the labels and the part numbers on them. Enjoy the upgrade!

Apr 30, 2012 - Hi guyben13, you'll want to double check you owners manual but typically with laptops/notebooks the memory is in one of two places. Either under a panel on the back or under the keyboard on the front. Some computers have one in each location. Hope this helps!

guyben13 Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - In the video you say "repeat for the other memory", but where is the other memory? How do I get to it? I can't find it, and even in the video we can see it isn't in the same location as the first one...

VargoN32 Says:

Apr 27, 2012 - hey i have toshiba l305 it came with 2 gb ram and i need to add 1 more gb ram is that possibole on this laptop?

FUGMed1a Says:

Apr 26, 2012 - Hi there, I have an Acer 4739z (though your system scanner identified it as: Intel Mobile HM55) It has 6gb memory installed/2 slots, 4gbs max each for maximum of 8gb memory. I'm curious if I can pick up just the one 4gb stick, as one of my RAM sticks has to already be 4gb. I'm also curious if it's easy to identify, and differentiate the RAM sticks once the memory bay is opened. Not willing to buy 4gbx2, but if I am able to buy just the 4gb you'll definitely have my purchase! :)
