1929 Ford Model A Open Runner Engine Display. The first thing you will notice is that the engine is on it's side to give a semi-full view of it's moving parts. Next you will see the distributor has been moved upright to give a better view of the pistons and valves. The 4th cylinder is the only working part of the engine. Bearings and pistons are lubricated with grease and oil. Run times are short due to overheating. There is no cooling other than a few holes drilled into the waterjacket by the exhaust. Yes, I could have made it water-cooled, but it's the start-up that makes the show! Thanks to Lee Bottensek, Art Hoppe, and Joe Thorn of MetalCrafters (www.metalcraftersinc.org) for their donations towards this project. Less

May 17, 2012 - But how did you solve a problem of crankshaft and camshaft bearings lubrication in your project? Is there an oil pressure or just a few drops of it for short run.

May 14, 2012 - you should try having a blocked cooling system, or some copper hose coiled up inside the watter jacket so you can pump water through it.

May 6, 2012 - It's not an air horn...it is a cutaway of an antique horn that would have been on a Model T car. I cut it to show the electric motor that spins the ratchet on the diaphragm to make the "aaooooga" noise.
