Mar 31, 2012 - Good video! A couple tips. Instead of pasting the mask layer twice then deleting the first paste, simply paste it once, right-click on the floating layer and choose "anchor layer". Then once you're done with whatever adjustments, right-click on the layer and choose merge layers and there you go.

Feb 27, 2012 - How can i delete the background without putting a new one?

Feb 25, 2012 - How do you find this "hard"? Yes, it is a long process, but it definitely gives a better result. Cutting out Hair using the Lasso is a real pain, and usually never comes out right... especially when you're editing 5000X4000px+ shots. I've been using this procedure professionally, thanks to the author.

Feb 24, 2012 - Hey there. Any chance on getting the video tutorial on the Black/White masking? I like your tutorial, very good, very informative, exactly what I need. I'd really like to see the whole process from start-to-finish though. Cheers!

Feb 12, 2012 - Sorry you feel that way. There are simpler and quicker ways to knock out backgrounds in GIMP...this tutorial, however, was specifically aimed at those who need a solution for dealing with fine details such as hair and fur. Simple shapes can be knocked out in a matter of minutes, even seconds, using the lasso or a quick mask...

Sep 10, 2011 - Tell you what...I know it's a bit to ask, but if you can wait until tomorrow night, I will be more than happy to post a video tutorial to demonstrate both how to create the bw layer mask and a mini video on how to apply the mask (ie. paste it)...I will get on this first thing in the morning because I really want to help you grasp this...

Sep 10, 2011 - You need to make sure to mind the step where you add a layer mask and paste the bw image onto the layer mask. For a written version, visit Dodisdodat and search "How to remove background". I wish I could post links here!
