Feb 21, 2012 - I don't have the option to change the aperture on my camera =( Help? Well my camera is a bit sucky (Fuji S2800HD) and I am a noob as well but I wanted to know how to get a blurry background with it =/
MrDylanj04 Says:
Feb 13, 2012 - @DistraughtYouth your lens will have a minimum f number, for example, with my Sony a330, my zoom lens goes from 70-300mm with an f stop of 4.5-5.6. That mean that at 70mm, the biggest aperture I can get is 4.5, but if I were to zoom all the way to 300mm, the biggest aperture I can get is 5.6. You can always go lower (bigger f number) by adjusting the aperture on your camera usually all the way down to f22

Feb 10, 2012 - Great tutorial. Really helpful for a beginner like myself working with a Canon SX30is. Not quite a DSLR but enough for me to experiment with.
DistraughtYouth Says:
Feb 5, 2012 - You keep mentioning that you should zoom in as far as the camera will let you and set your F-Stop as low as it will go .... but if you zoom out as far as you can, your F-Stop is actually smaller .... no? I bought a 50mm prime lens for my Canon T2i so I can't dabble with the zoom, but my kit lens behaves in the manner that I mentioned above. I'm very new to photography, so I'm more looking for clarification as opposed to correcting you.
