Dec 23, 2010 - You swapped the terms as if they were being added. If you have 2 - ab and did a "correct" swap, to see if subtraction is commutative, you should use: ab - 2. Also, try to use values that are different when you do a substitution. 2 - 2 swapped is still 2 - 2, so that is not a good example. Try a = 3 and b = 4.

Dec 23, 2010 - HI SIR LUIS! 36:00 - 36:17 -- here's the example in quiz 10: 2 - ab you said that the commutative property doesn't apply to subtraction such as this. but sir, i guess, we could also swap them into: -ab + 2 cuz i tried it and it gave me the same answer. and here's what i did: 2 - ab 2- (1)(2) 2-2 =0 -ab + 2 -(1)(2) + 2 -2 + 2 =0 so i think that's also applicable :) anyway, i'm gonna finish your whole course cuz your vids were really informative. ;D thank you.
