Apr 29, 2012 - Thank you! This is really helpful. BTW, your accent is adorable . . . although, I guess I'm the one with the accent, since I'm a Yank. Anyway, thanks!

Apr 23, 2012 - Great tutorial, not as basic as you think. I learned more in 10 minutes than I have self-teaching/playing with Gimp/Photoshop for a year ! Sweet cup o' tea !

Mar 18, 2012 - Your tutorial is very clear, but even after ten years of experience with Photoshop I still have a very basic problem with GIMP. I have GIMP 2.6.11. When I try to move a layer I select in the layers pallet then left click the image to move. The selection when I click goes back to the background and that is what moves, not the layer I want. I've resorted to turning off the BG layer to move other layers and that works, but, as you can imagine, it's not practical. Any help?

Feb 21, 2012 - Thank you for the video. I'm helping a friend get started with her newly downloaded Gimp, and I want to help her to find beginners videos. Yours is very informative, and helpful.

Feb 21, 2012 - Hi, I get many of my brushes from the kind people at Deviant Art. There are a lot of people who have created them for downloading. There are also explainations on where to download them to. I probably learned that from another Youtube video that I wish I could suggest. Just type Gimp brush into the search field. Photoshop brushes work in Gimp, too!!

Feb 14, 2012 - Try this, go to your brush and where it says "normal", click on it, there will be a list of settings, go to "color erase" and have white as your color, then color over the layer with the lineart from MS paint, this will erase all of the white from that layer (it may help to hid the layer underneath the lineart layer I hope this helps :)
