I always loved the fact that, while there is a romantic subplot, it is not her priority, they fall for each other after getting to know and respect one another, and at the end, there isn't a 'great, bad guy defeated let's instantly get married' conclusion - they don't even kiss. The possibilty of a relationship is merely implied. also; Mulan's a total badass.

May 20, 2012 - The unfortunate thing is 'thats' most probably it.while Mulan is an incredibly well written character, most young girls have been fed other stories en-mass where the goals of the heroine are those you specified before. It'll take a few years of characters like Mulan to change this, its just a lot of backers don't want to take that risk.
