May 5, 2012 - I always thought this was a good movie, infact I now have it on DVD but it never got the credit it should have. With such wonderful actors like Sir Lan McKellen, Tim Curry, Penelope Ann Miler and Alec Baldwin, all award winning actors in their own rights. Set in the glamour of the art deco 1930s, its a shame it didnt do better at the box office.

Mar 25, 2012 - Characters like the phantom, rocketeer, flash gordon, the shadow and the spirit are all time classics but is almost impossible to adapt them succesfully into movies, but who cares you´ll have more fun reading them in their original format anyway.

Mar 21, 2012 - Stylish movie, great visuals, amazing score and sadly misunderstood.

Mar 18, 2012 - I understand what you meant, however I still believe your opinion is pointless as a response. The atmosphere present in The Dark Knight series, realistically bleak urban landscapes and subdued lighting would be appropriate for The Shadow. The Dick Tracy film, brightly colored with cornball sets, would be horrible for The Shadow. Effects HAVE progressed since 1994, and would compliment a reboot. I'm uninterested in the detective aspect, as it has nothing to do with style.

Mar 18, 2012 - It wasn't pointless, there's a point. Let me explain. Batman should be more like Dick Tracy. The Dark Knight takes away a lot of the detective aspect in which Batman was founded on, instead portraying him as a brooding ninja with mental issues. This is my opinion on the matter. :)

Mar 18, 2012 - If you decide to read my comment, you'll notice I was referring to visual effects, not characterization. Thanks for the pointless rant.
TheAmazingBrand0 Says:
Mar 18, 2012 - This franchise doesn't need a reboot in the style of The Dark Knight. That kind of a reboot would kill it, just like it did with Batman. Batman was a detective... like Dick Tracy... I don't see much detective work in the new Batman movies. IMO they killed Batman in removing the detective aspect. DC = Detective Comics. Not every superhero needs to be an invincible badass. :(
NewAngel81 Says:
Mar 4, 2012 - This franchise deserves a good reboot. There is so much good material from the classic radio shows and comic books to start with, and visual effects have progressed alot since 1994. I think if they used less "Dick Tracy" style and go for "The Dark Knight" instead, it would be a hit. It'll happen eventually, but it's a shame no one is working on it right now...

Mar 3, 2012 - yeah the critics are retards.

Mar 3, 2012 - This movie was awesome. Everyone I know who has ever seen it said it was great. The critics are retarded. This movie was fun to watch which is something movies have long since lost the ability to do, and that's be entertaining. Defiantly sequel worthy will just have to do some recasting. as Alex is a old fat bastard now lol

Feb 9, 2012 - I reached a whole new level of respect for the Shadow after my bro pointed out it was the same guy who played Mr. Conductor in "Thomas and the Magic Railroad". And a whole new level of respect for Mr. Conductor! XD As a kid, naturally I wouldn't have known Baldwin from too many places.

Jan 20, 2012 - This movie is actually not as bad as they would have you believe. Even the silly bomb chase scene manages to be enterntaining somehow.

Nov 23, 2011 - I'm not a huge fan of Alec Baldwin's work, but this one of my faves he's done, along with "Beetlejuice" and "Ghosts of Mississippi". One of my favorite scenes in "The Shadow" is the cab ride with Roy Tam, after he's saved on the bridge.

Nov 17, 2011 - The shadow movie rocks! Alec baldwin was a good choice.
citizenerased1992 Says:
Nov 16, 2011 - Critics considered this film corny, I think its actually just a really good style it was produced in, really one of the best overlooked characters/films so far I would say.
