May 12, 2012 - OK same as above but just noticed you said you "created the drawing in Photoshop" so obviously no need to scan or take picture.

photoshopmama Says:

May 12, 2012 - By drawing, I'll assume it's just ink or pencil, no colors. Scan or take a picture of your drawing. Drag the drawing file from Bridge into your opened project file. It will come in as a smart object so scale as needed then click the commit check or enter. Then set the drawing layer to "Multiply Mode" so all the whites will disappear. You can also add a Levels directly to the drawing layer to increase contrast by pulling the white & black input sliders toward center a bit.

May 12, 2012 - I just created a drawing in photoshop. I would like to now take that drawing (without the white background) and inset it into another photoshop project that I have going on. Can you explain how I can do this without using the feature to extract? One thing I should note is that I used dodge and burn features on some layers. Thanks Cory

May 6, 2012 - Alt/Option click on the thumbnail of the mask of the layer to view in the big image window; to get back to normal view do the same thing-alt/option click on the mask thumbnail.

May 6, 2012 - Hi, your video has been the best help so far. I have no sound, and you have probably told us how to do this, but how do you get the layer mask to edit. I have got as far as 12.49 minutes, but the next step of getting the mask into the edit area has left me scratching my head and getting splinters.

Feb 22, 2012 - Make sure your brush is in Normal Mode at 100% Opacity and than your cancel cast spill layer is not in Normal mode but in Color Mode at 40-70% Opacity.

afterSHOcKsStudios Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - sorry! I read other people's post and I found the answer... i had to set the mode to darken or multiply... thanks so much!

afterSHOcKsStudios Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - hi photoshopmama, i'm having difficulty getting the "cancel cast spill" layer to work... I have followed the precise instructions and when I go to "paint" over top of the hair using the hair colour (alt-click), the spots do not change into the hair colour. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Jan 23, 2012 - Everyone doesn't use a green screen. Typically for video one uses a green or blue screen because software for video has the functionality to remove that color for an Alpha (transparency) channel. Alot of our clients do take the photos into video---but if you don't have that software then this is one way to extract in Photoshop. Typically, for just photo's we shoot on a white background and then the process is simpler in my opinion.

fucut00b Says:

Jan 23, 2012 - good tutorial but why does everyone use green? Why not blue or red or any other color the effect would be the same with any
